The PrimeFish project launches a video competition on seafood consumption

23.11.2016

In order to increase the public awareness on seafood consumption, the H2020 project PrimeFish launches a competition to support the creation of videos linked to the seafood consumption and all of its cultural, societal and economic relevance. Everybody over 18 years old is encouraged to participate with a 1 minute length video. Participants will be competing for a prize of 1,500 euros and the opportunity to film a video in an H2020 research meeting!

How to participate

Individuals and groups up to 3 people can participate with a video no longer than 1 minute in length. Any genre or format (animation, stop-motion, documentary, fiction…) is accepted. Authors can upload directly their videos to YouTube (see https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/157177?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl for any doubt) and send the link to competition@primefish.eu together with the name, surname, address and contact details of all team members. The deadline for all submissions is February 5th 2017 at 08:59:59 AM CET.

All team members or individuals must be more than 18 years old and be a resident in the EU, EFTA (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein) or Faroe Islands. Entrants must be entitled to a passport that allows the entrance in Spain in 2017.

Prize

The creators of the best video will be awarded with 1,500 euros and a trip to the Costa Dorada (Spain) to participate and film a second video about the PrimeFish project. This trip will likely take place in April 2017 and the organizers will prevent the winners enough time in advance. The winners will participate in a learning and networking experience, side by side with the scientists involved in a innovative H2020 project. The prize will cover their plane tickets, hotel, food allowance and transport in the terms explained in the official rules of the competition (see attached document).

Take into account

All videos must include the screenshot available in the link http://primefish.eu/sites/default/files/screenshot_primefish_0.jpg, which should remain visible for 2 seconds. Films in languages other than English must include subtitles in English. They must also comply with the Youtube Community Guidelines  and the YouTube Terms of Service.

Award criteria

There will be a two-stage qualification process. In its first step, videos will be judged by the organizer team. The selected ones will reach the final stage, in which a team of experienced professionals will assess the relevance, aesthetics, creativity, social media impact, quality and gender issues.

The criteria are further explained in the point 8 Award criteria of the attached terms and conditions of the competition, which participants must read carefully. Any doubt about the competition can be sent to the email competition[at]primefish.eu.
